Millbank Tower Student Demonstration

Thursday 11th November, 2010

Millbank Tower the headquarters for the Conservative party was attacked by students protesting over tuition fees yesterday. TV footage showed several panes of Millbank Tower reception being broken. Millbank Tower had been filmed previously in a clear anti shatter film for bomb blast protection. This bomb blast film stopped many injuries to the students and Police by holding the glass together and by providing a stong barrier between them and the broken glass, preventing potentially serious cuts and laserations. What was missing from Millbank Tower glass was an edge retention system to hold the filmed glass in postion in the frame. The students were therefore able to smash the glass panes out of the frames and gain access to Millbank Tower reception, which lead to significant damage and distruption, as well as causing distress to the office workers within the building. The latest generation of Invicta Window Films edge retention systems provide security from rioters who seek to gain entry to building's to either cause damage or loot the properties. Our systems also provide enhanced bomb blast protection and can even replace steel bars in high security locations.
