Heston Blumenthal Dinner Gets Filmed

Friday 11th February, 2011

Invicta Window Films have completed a prestigious installation at "Dinner", Michelin star chef Heston Blumenthal's new and first London restaurant located at the five star London Mandarin Oriental Hotel.

Invicta installed the latest generation of security combined spectrally selective window film Invicta LX 70 8Mil by Solargard.

The film is virtually invisible yet provides cutting edge safety and security against bomb blast or accidental breakage by holding the glass together as well as giving state of the art solar protection against the sun's heat and harmful UV rays.

The film, Invicta LX 70 8Mil, was selected as heat build-up in the restaurant was a major concern as was the cost of cooling the room. Spectrally selective films target the infra-red light rays which transfer the sun's energy as heat. By cooling the air the effect is to reduce the energy needed to cool and lower the temperature within the restaurant thereby reducing the Carbon Footprint of the hotel and saving money.

Critically as the film does not impede vision through the glass, which is a problem with tinted films, the stunning view of Hyde Park from the "Dinner" was maintanied helping enhance the overall experience of the clientele.

The whole installation had to be flexible as the restaurant was already open meaning Invicta's professional installation team had to be on site at 07:00 a.m. and be away by 11:00 a.m. leaving the room clean and tidy to be ready for business each day as if they had never been there!

Another successful contract by Invicta Window Films completed on time and on budget.
